I-Kat Style Neon Leopard Print

I love leopard print, but I feel the 'normal' way is a little boring sometimes. So I decided to try to mesh it with the I-Kat style that I've seen so much of, but never tried.

I used Color Club Pucci-licious as my base, China Glaze Surfin For Boys to fill the leopard print, and black acrylic paint. I think it turned out super cute and a new way to try doing leopard print!

Girly Bits Monster Mash

I love me some indies, but with all the amazing stuff coming from the Aussie indie makers I forget about the overseas ones! I saw Girly Bits Monster Mash in a blog sale and jumped right on it. I remember lusting after it when I first saw swatches. And for good reason...

I've layered it over Orly Glowstick (which has a white base for extra neon goodness). The base is slightly green tinted, and it has black, green and yellow gold glitter squares, plus black shards. I've used one coat, it's super packed with glitter! No fishing needed, but it is a little bit sinky. That doesn't bother me though, turn it upside down for 5 minutes and it's allllll gooooood.

Aussie Nails Monday- Ruffian

I haven't done a lot of Ruffians, but was keen to try it for this weeks Aussie Nails Monday. I didn't have any of the little stickers needed to do it perfectly, so I had to freehand it.

A few photos cos I love it so much! I used 2 coats each of Ozotic 518 (red) and 526 (black) and bases, and then one coat of 526 and 2 coats of 518 over them to make the 'ruffian' design.

Hope you guys like this as much as I do!

Waterfall Skittles!

Ever since The Nailasaurus posted her tutorial on Waterfall manis, I have been dieing to try them. So today I have two of my attempts, and they kinda match too!

For this one I used Sally Hansen Blue Me Away for the base, silver star studs, Celestial Cosmetics Silk Sapphire and for the Waterfall nail, Zoya Blu and Ulta3 Blue Marlin.
For the pink version, I used China Glaze Something Sweet as the base, gold heart studs, China Glaze United and for the Waterfall nail, United and Sally Hansen I Pink I Can.

I only used two colours per 'Waterfall', and I found it very, very easy and quick to do. Its a super fun take on a gradient almost!

Hope you like these guys!

Lilypad Lacquer Zombee

Sometimes you come across a polish that is so unique, so unlike anything you've ever seen and you fall majorly in love with it. Lilypad Lacquer Zombee is one of those.

A neon chartreuse almost, a bright slime green. AND ITS HOLO. It's perfect. Super bright, and holo. While the holo is on the subtle side, it's definitely there. I used three thin coats plus topcoat for this. Lilypads holos wear so, so well and are all just amazingly unique. I am hooked!

Just a reminder that my giveaway is still running too! Only a few days left!

Aussie Nails Monday- Nerdy

I do a lot of geek/nerd/insert stereotype here nail art, so for this weeks 'Nerdy' Aussie Nails Monday theme, I was a little bit stumped. So I dove into my untrieds pile and discovered that I was still yet to use the 3 polishes I own from Dollish Polishs Super Mario Bros. Collection. So, have some Mario nail spam!

The Koopa King. Layered over Illamasqua Rampage. All the art is done with acrylic paints. Awesome coverage for a glitter top coat!

1-Up layered over Color Club Twiggie. The mushroom nail is done with black and white acrylic, Twiggie, 1-Up and the base is China Glaze For Audrey. Again, awesome coverage!

It's A Me, Mario! layered over Orly Mandalay Ruby. Overalls are done with China Glaze Techno Teal and small round gold studs.

This is such a fun collection, I'm hunting the rest of them down now!

Until Next Time,

Make Up Sunday- Apocalips!

Rimmels liquid lipstick line, Apocalips, hit Aussie stores not long ago. I'd read mixed reviews, and wanted to try them for myself before I decided. I have one that is available in stores, and one that is available online.

As I mentioned, the Apocalips are liquid lipsticks. They come with a fuzzy doe foot applicator, but I much rather applying them with a lip brush. The formula is lightweight, and not runny and not too thick, which makes for easy application.

The packaging is super cool, the colours on the tube are the actual colours of the product. So you can get a good idea of what it looks like without having to open it. These colours are Big Bang (top) and Phenomenon. Phenomenon is available in stores here, but Big Bang had to be sourced from ASOS (and was also half the price of what they are in stores here!).

Both colours have really nice pigmentation. They remind me SO much of Rimmels Kate Moss matte lipsticks in #111 and #113 (both favs of mine!). They even smell similar, but the Apocalips smell is much stronger. I did find Big Bang to be a stainer though- my arm still has a stain on it!

Phenomenon is a nude, slightly peachy colour. I find that it does tend to settle into the lines on my lips a little. It's a very wearable colour, and would suit most people.

Big Bang is a highly pigmented red. This is the closest to a true red that I have seen with this line. Its glossy, and a little bit of a sexy colour ;)

As much as I like these, I have one gripe. They bleed, they smudge, they don't set. I wore Big Bang during a longer shift at work and by the end of my shift, it was EVERYWHERE. If they set, and dried out a little, they would be perfect. Even lipliners didn't help.

Have you tried the Apocalips line? Let me know what you think of them!

Skittle Mani featuring Peita's Polish

I mentioned recently that I have been re-discovering some of my stash, and that includes a lot of Aussie Indies, so be prepared for a lot of those! ;)

Todays post features a new polish, a fairly new polish and an Aussie Indie. And it (like a few upcoming posts!) is a 'skittle' mani, they're my current obsession!

My base colours were two coats each of Picture Polish Watermelon, Sally Hansen Blue Me Away and on my ring finger, again two coats of Peita's Polish Razzmatazz. The cremes match the colours of the glitter perfectly, I think! I then used Razzmatazz to add a glitter gradient over Watermelon, and I used the brush of Razzmatazz to put a small 'dot' of glitter on Blue Me Away.

Just a reminder that my giveaway is still running too!

Van Gogh Inspired Nail Art!

I'm an art lover, and always have been. One day last week (I think!) Eboni and I were discussing two of our favourite things, Van Gogh and Doctor Who and we decided somehow to paint some Van Gogh on our nails. I've been dying to post it, so now I am!

Our inspiration was Sunflowers, a mutual favourite of ours.

And here's how I painted it:

I used China glaze Lemon Fizz for the base, and then on my pointer and pinky I painted a tiny dab of China Glaze Peachy Keen on my finger and 'stamped' it onto the nail. The rest is all done with a tiny brush and acrylic paints. Then I matted it with Essie Matte About You.

I'm very proud of how these turned out, it was not easy to paint!

Glitter Placement featuring Dead Set Babes

I've been playing with a lot of my indie polishes lately, the ones that have been sitting in the drawer unloved for a little while. The most recent one I found was Discotheque from Aussie indie brand Dead Set Babes.

I used 2 coats of China Glaze Something Sweet for the base colour, and then placed the glitters from Discotheque out of the polish and onto the nail one by one. I did the accent nail first, and then the 'gradients'. I love a good glitter placement mani! For some reason, this makes me think of the circus!

Aussie Nails Monday- Pets

I love my pets, but neither are easy to represent in nail art. So for this weeks Aussie Nails Monday Pet theme, I went super simple. Suuuuuuuper simple haha...

Two coats of BYS Ultra Violet and one larger gold circle stud and 4 smaller ones to make an off-centre pawprint. Gold and purple look so nice together! So that is my super lazy attempt!

Don't forget I have a giveaway running either! Go enter! ;)

Love Thy Polish Week: Royalty + more!

For the last day of Love Thy Polish week, I have a real stunner to show you! Royalty is an amazing dark purple jelly base packed with purple glitter. The amount of sparkle this has is off the charts! It's sooooooo sparkly!

Pictured here at 3 coats. You can easily get away with two, but the third coat just adds an amazing amount of depth and sparkle. You might notice that the picture says "Original Formula." This is because the glitter that Emma uses in it as been discontinued. So she had to find another glitter that wouldn't change the polish much, and she found the perfect one! Here is the new version at 3 coats:
Not a whole lot of difference! I also have a photo of the two of them side by side:
She did an awesome job matching the glitters- the only difference really is that the new version is a little bit sparklier! This is a polish you reaaaaally need to see for yourself, which leads me to something you may be interested...

I have for one lucky Australian (sorry international readers, but shipping is ridiculous lately!) reader, a bottle of Love Thy Polish Royalty and a pair of classic pink and white Pedi-Sox! All you need to do is follow this...

Love Thy Polish Week: Magic Forest

Love Thy Polish Week continues with another new release, Magic Forest. Holy mother of god, this is an instant favourite for me, of any indie brand ever.

Magic Forest is a deep green base, packed with green glitter and holo glitter. Think a very deep green version of China Glaze's Ruby Pumps and then add holo glitter. It. Is. INSANE. So sparkly and so perfect.

Opaque in 2 coats, but a third really ads more depth, and more sparkle. Formula is perfection, just like every Love Thy Polish. Seriously, just perfect formulas.

Go check Lacquer and Leather, Kelly's Kolors and Pretty in Polish out and see what they've posted! If you're Australian, Love Thy Polish can be purchased from her website Love Thy Polish. International ladies, at this time you cannot buy this one, but you can buy select shades from MeiMei's Signatures, with worldwide shipping.

Love Thy Polish Week- I Shit Glitter

Day 2 of Love Thy Polish week, and today most of us (Lacquer and Leather, Kelly's Kolors and Pretty in Polish and myself) are sharing the same polish. This was only recently released and is a very Limited Edition, and there is only 50 bottles of it. (Mine is #4!)

It's called I Shit Glitter and was inspired by the ever so lovely Tammy of Lacquer and Leather, who is also doing LTP week. It's a gorgeous brown shimmer/metallic packed with holo glitter. It really is a sparkly turd colour. Sounds gross, looks the opposite...

The holo sparkles are a bit of a pain to photograph, but they are definitely there! It's a gorgeous polish, great formula too! Almost a one coater, and the formula is perfect consistency, meaning I had very little clean up to do!

If you're Australian, Love Thy Polish can be purchased from her website Love Thy Polish. International ladies, at this time you cannot buy this one, but you can buy select shades from MeiMei's Signatures, with worldwide shipping.

And please, if you are international and would like to buy LTP, go beg one of the major international stockists to consider stocking them!

Love Thy Polish Week- Marine Dream

Welcome to Love Thy Polish Week! This week, myself, Lacquer and Leather, Kelly's Kolors and Pretty in Polish are sharing the love/spreading awareness for one of our collective favourite Aussie Indies, Love Thy Polish. I've got one polish a day to show you, and something very special for you at the end of the week!

What I'm showing you today is a brand-new shade that is only available for pre-order at this stage, and is due to be released properly on August 15.

Marine Dream is a stunning teal holo. Formula and everything about this polish is flawless. I used 2 coats and got full opacity, and an amazingly strong linear holo effect. It's an amazing polish, I cannot fault it one bit.

If you're in Australia you can preorder by contacting Emma via her facebook page. International ladies, you can also ask!

I have another polish from this yet to be released collection to show you sometime this week, and it's a doozy!

Until Next Time,

Makeup Sundays: Recent Rimmel Purchases!

I have been needing new foundation for a while, and finally decided to bit the bullet once I heard about a current Priceline special and decided to try Rimmel's Stay Matte line. Matte/oil free foundations are something I struggle to find good results with, but I had heard good things about these ones.

I bought the Stay Matte liquid foundation in Ivory, and the Stay Matte powder foundation in Silky Beige. I opted for Silky Beige instead of Translucent because I have days where I just want very light coverage and Translucent was too light- if you get what I mean!

 Stay Matte liquid in Ivory
Stay Matte Powder in Silky Beige

These colours are perfect for my skin tone and give a good coverage. And, they don't make me oily, nor do I need to reapply powder every 2-3 hours! Hallelujah! I found these relatively cheap too, I paid $28 for the two. The only downside I can find so far is that the powder smells like sunscreen! Haha!

Now, the real reason I chose to buy these Rimmel products- Priceline currently have a special (started August 1st, ends in a few days- be quick!) where if you spend $20 in store on ANY Rimmel product you get one of these:

How cool is that!? $47.80 worth of Rimmel products FOR FREE! I believe there are two different packs, but I am very happy with what I got.

ScandalEyes Kohl Kajal pencil in Taupe
Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Matte lipstick in #113 Truly Nude
#113 Truly Nude (top)
ScandalEyes Taupe (bottom)

Both super cool, super neutral colours. I have this lipstick already and ADORE it, so I am thrilled to have a backup! I love the Lasting Finish lipstick line. And I've recently fallen in love with the ScandalEyes eyeliners too, they last forever, have great pigmentation and are really creamy. And they do not budge!

Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Colour in #510 Euphoria
Ehhhh... This colour leans a bit "grandma-ish" on me. It's a frosty pinky nude with subtle rainbowish shimmer. A little on the sheer side, 3 thin coats and still some VNL. Into the swap pile it goes.

ScandalEyes mascara in #003 Extreme Black
 'Naked' lashes
Lashes with ScandalEyes mascara #003 Extreme Black at one coat

I've been needing a new day to day mascara, and this will tide me over juuuust fine. The brush is HUGE though, so you have to be careful. It wears quite well, and stays put. You need a bit of effort to get this one off!

And finally, a quick look using every product here (minus the nail polish):

Remember, this offer ends in a few days! Go to Priceline ASAP!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec
