Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Eyeliners

I've recently discovered Rimmel's ScandalEyes Kohl Kajal Waterproof eyeliners, and I am kicking myself for not trying them earlier.

The two I've got to show today are not conventional colours by any means, but that's why I love them!

The colours are 008 Light Blue and 010 Silver. Not imaginative names at all are they? Haha! These are pencil eyeliners, so you do need to sharpen them, which can waste some product.

These pencils are awesomely pigmented! One swipe and you can go, or, you can go over it again for crazy intense colour.

This is Silver and Light Blue swatched on my arm, gone over once. Silver is very shimmery! They claim to be waterproof, and it takes a fair bit of effort to get them off with water (or dry! these things do not budge!), so I would say it pretty much lives up to that. I wore Silver to work last week on my inner corners and it stayed put all day.

Another thing I love about these is how creamy they are. They glide on, don't drag or pull and apply very easily. They can easily jazz up any old eye look- I love pairing Silver with a smokey eye, and I layer a black liquid liner in a thinner line over blue and wing it for a cute look.

Have you tried these? What are your thoughts?

Until Next Time,

Dead Set Babes Glitter Spam!

Hiiii! I'm so sorry I haven't posted much lately, all I've been doing is working and sleeping haha!

Today I have 4 more polishes by Dead Set Babes to show you, three glitter toppers and a coloured base glitter.

Tainted Love- Clear base with white, black, blue and teal hearts and hexes. This is PACKED with hearts. I didn't need to fish for these at all, and the formula was nice. I picked out one heart of each colour to make heart 'balloons' as an accent nail. This is one coat over China Glaze Something Sweet, with topcoat.
Crocodile Rock- clear base with white, blue, yellow and orange hexes with bright pink squares. Definitely a unique one in my collection. Formula was a little thin, but the glitter came out nicely and applied easily. This is one coat over BYS Black Satin and China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard with top coat.
Gunshot Glitter- this may be my favourite glitter indie all year. Big call I know, but it was love at first sight for me. Clear based glitter packed with small and large white hexes, blue hexes and tiny squares, black thick bars and stars, and red squares and stars. A LOT of glitter. It is so perfectly a comic book style glitter, so I painted on little 'action' noises comic book style. Formula was perfect, it's a dense glitter but wasn't too thick. No fishing or dabbing required. This is one coat over China Glaze Recycle with top coat.

Atlantis To Interzone- first things first, this one is HARD to capture. Photos do NOT do it justice. This polish has an inky blue jelly base and is full of teal, blue and purple hex glitters, some different sizes and some are holo. It has amazing pigmentation, glitter coverage and depth. I've shown it here at both one and two coats to give you a better look. Two coats is all this one needs, and I used Essence Gel Look and SV topcoats to make it shiny and smooth.

I hope you enjoyed these as much as I do!

Until Next Time,

Dead Set Babes Neon Holos!

NEON. HOLOS. Two of my favourite things combined into one. So when I got a package from Dead Set Babes, I squealed when these gorgeous things fell into my lap!

Today, I'll be showing you 3 gorgeous holos from the Holla atcha Holo collection.

First up, Stephanya Bananya, a yellow, bright holo. This one, as you can see, is sheer. It's better off as a holo topper.
This is 3 coats, with top coat. This, and all of them really, are much more holo than they look in photos. My camera couldn't handle the brightness + the holoness!

Next, Mamacita, a HOT orange.
Again, 3 coats, and again, more holo IRL. I fell in love with this one straight away. Nice and opaque.

And finally, J-Bomb. This ones my favourite ;)
Greeeeeeeeeeeeen holo. My weakness! Again, 3 coats and more holo IRL. This one was good and opaque at 3 coats, still a teeny tiny bit of nail line showing through.

So, after I swatched and then fell in love with these, I grabbed 3 of my favourite polishes and layered these holos over them!
Stephanye Bananya over China Glaze Sun Kissed
Mamacita over China Glaze Surfin For Boys
J-Bomb over China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard

My overall verdict? I love these. I love them alone, I love them layered, I love the ADORABLE mini bottles.

These are suuuuuuuuuuper limited edition, and there are more colours. I urge you to try them!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec

Aussie Nails Monday - Inspired by a Blogger

This weeks ANM was a tricky one. Inspired by another blogger is always hard for me. But I saw this mani by @nadeekay a few months ago and fell in love so I had to recreate it!

Naomi always puts out some amazing nail art, go check her out! But this mani was just so cute I had to try it myself!

I used China Glaze Lemon Fizz and Ulta3 Hot Spring to do the gradient and black acrylic paint to do the outlines.

Super simple, but super effective! I love.

Until Next Time,

Love Thy Polish Gruesome Twosome Halloween Duo!

Halloween is approaching and I can not be more excited! Halloween polishes are my favourite. We don't celebrate it much here in Australia, but it's my favourite holiday.

Love Thy Polish's offering this year is a duo of two polishes that have absolutely stolen my heart, and set the bar very high early in my books.

The first of the two is Swamp Monster. This is a glitter topper, a clear base, with neon green and yellow hexes, black glitter and neon green micro glitter. No fishing or dabbing needed, and the glitter spreads nicely. I have it here layered one coat over Ulta3 Violet Rumble.

And the other half is Zombie Brains. This one is a grey jelly base, with black and white micro glitters and two sizes of magenta-pink circle glitter. I'm actually wearing this one on my toes at the moment, I love it so much! Some slight fishing required to get the dots out, but I leave it upside down for a few minutes before opening and have no trouble. Shown here at three thin coats.

And the best part about this duo, is that they look amazing layered WITH each other! I added one coat of Swamp Monster over 3 coats of Zombie Brains and this happened:

The neon glitters compliment the grey and magenta perfectly! Both of these polishes dry smooth too, one coat of top coat was enough.

Overall, very happy with the first Halloween polishes I got my claws on this year. These are available tomorrow- September 21st for Aussie ladies. International ladies, keep an eye on the Love Thy Polish facebook page for release info.

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec

Born Pretty Store Neon Green Studs!

As soon as I saw that Born Pretty Store had fluorescent square studs, I instantly knew I needed the bright green ones!

These are a single bag of 100 3mm studs. As with most studs I've tried from Born Pretty, they are good quality.

For this manicure, I used BYS Black Satin under the studs, and on the other fingers I used Dead Set Babes J-Bomb (which you will see very soon!) over China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard.

I did find that these studs to be a bit too big for my nails, so they didn't sit flat. They lasted well while stuck on with a regular top coat. If you have curvy, narrowish nails like I do, you may find these don't sit on the nail properly. But, these are 3mm ones, 2mm ones (which they also have), are never a problem for me.

Don't forget, I have a 10% Discount Code that you can use on anything in the Born Pretty Store, but if you're like me, you go straight for the nail art section! The code is AFL91

Aussie Nails Monday- Chevron/Zig Zag

To quote Hansel (Zoolander), "The chevron/zig zag mani is so hot right now." It's true. It's not something I do a lot of, because unlike so many people, I don't own the pinking shears used to cut tape to get them perfect, so I hand paint mine, and to be honest, it's a little bit of a pain in the butt lol!

So for this weeks ANM theme, I gave it another try...

I have to say, I love how this turned out! I started with BYS French White as a base, and then sponged on a gradient of 3 China Glazes- Riveting, Surfin For Boys and Sun Kissed. I stuffed the gradient up a little on the index finger, but let's pretend that didn't happen ;)

I used a tiny nail art brush and black acrylic paint to paint on my zig-zag. I call this a zig zag because there's been some debate over what exactly a chevron is. A chevron is the one point, so it looks just like a 'v'. This is what I deem zig zag.

Do you think the scissors to do these cleanly are worth investing in? I love the finished look of these manis, but it's not my favourite to do!

Until Next Time,

Napoleon Perdis 'Fire' Prismatic Eyeshadow Quad

If you follow me on Instagram, you'd have seen me taking part in Lipstick Republic's September 'Photo A Day' challenge, and today's post here  coincides with today's post there!

It's favourite palette. I have two, a neutral one (Australis' Totes Smokin' palette) and a colour one. This one:

Napoleon Perdis Prismatic Eyeshadow Quad in Fire. It may only be four colours, but you can do a lot with them! They're all very shimmery shadows, and they are all very soft to touch.

(Top to bottom- Dark purple, Red, Gold, and the pastel Pink.)
Quick colour by colour run down:
Red- it's not a bright, fire truck red, but more a burnt, orange-y red. Perfect if, like me, you have blue eyes, this colour can make your eye colour stand out nicely!
Gold- again, not a traditional gold. It's darker, a bit copper-y.
Purple- this one looks blueish in the pan, but once you apply it, it almost looks like it has a black base, it's quite dark.
Pink- this one surprised me. Because it's so light and shimmery, instead of a pretty pale pink frost, it almost looks silver.

The pigmentation on these is great. They start a little sheer, but build up very easily. The only really difficult one is the purple, its sheerer than the rest. The shadows are very soft, and can cause a little bit of fall out due to that. You have to be gentle with these because they are on the powdery side. They blend very easily too. Over primer, these will last me all day, and what I love the most is how every colour in the palette can pair with any other colour in there!

I need more palettes, I want a good neon one! I hear Sleeks is good! Would love to hear some palette recommendations!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec

Sayuri Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review!

Sayuri Nail Lacquer are an Aussie Indie (I know, I know, another one!) that hails from Brisbane, and is the brainchild of Anthea from Nailed Obsession. Anthea's polishes are definitely unique, and she pours her personality into them. I have three of her polishes to show you today.

From her first collection, Streets of Toyko, comes Lolita. And Lolita is an interesting one! It's vampy and complex, and is inspired by the Gothic Lolita fashion style.

This is 3 coats alone, with top coat. It has a sheer black base PACKED with an almost burgundy shimmer, which does make the polish look burgundy when built up like it is here. It also has black, magenta and silver glitter hexes, along with black diamond glitters.

While this one is shown at 3 coats above, it can definitely be layered over other colours- I quite like it over Essie Little Brown Dress. Here's how it looks at 1 and 2 coats:

That also gives you a better look at the depth of this polish. It has good drying time, and the formula was very nice, although on the thicker side.

The next two polishes I have come from the very recent collection, Crystal Dreams. This collection has some amazingly unique polishes in it!

First up is Sugar Coated Dreams. This is a clear based glitter topper, densely packed with pastel glitter in hexes, stars and circle glitter. I have it here layered over the pastel gradient I showed you last week.

Predominantly lilac/pastel purple, pastel pink, pastel yellow and white glitters. Super cute, and SUPER perfect for spring time! This is one coat over the gradient, it's a very dense glitter, so like me, you might find the "dabbing" method helpful. I didn't have to fish for any glitter either. She does like to eat top coat though, a good thick one might be best! Again, formula was good, thick, but I expected that given how much glitter is crammed in there!

And lastly, we have my favourite of the three, Galaxy Magic. Clear based glitter topper, full of matte neon yellow, pink and blue microglitter, large black circle glitter and a bunch of small, thick, black rectangle glitter.

(Enlarge this photo! Look at aaaaaaaaaaaaaall the glitter!) I have this layered over a gradient of China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise and China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard. I can see myself wearing this glitter a LOT come Summer time! Again, it's densely packed, this is one coat again. The formula on this one was a little better, it's not as thick. I didn't need to do any fishing for the black glitters, they happily come out on their own! The rectangle glitter too, is amazing. I don't like bar glitters because they never behave, but these rectangles sit nicely on the nail!

The thickness of the formula here is nothing to worry about. It's not overly thick at all, just slightly thicker than a normal polish. It's good to remember that when the polish is this full of glitter, it will be a little thicker.

For my first experience with Sayuri, I am thrilled! These polishes are all very individual to my stash, and they are all very good polishes. Sayuri can be bought from her website, or, for international ladies, from Mei Mei's Signatures.

What do you think of Sayuri's offerings?

Until  Next Time,

Born Pretty Store Moustache Charms

I'm a big fan of moustaches. I think they are adorable. So when I found these Moustache Charms on Born Pretty Store's website, I fell in love.

These charms are super cute! I paired them with little tuxedos, my nails felt like little gentlemen!

These come in a pack of 5, and they come in gold or silver. I chose silver. They are solid, and they feel very sturdy. They are also curved, so they don't sit flat on your nail, they stick to more of the nail this way. I just stuck mine on with a regular topcoat, and sealed it on with a matte topcoat. If you're careful too, you can salvage them when you take your mani off and re use them!

I think these are super cute, and they are amazing quality, the kind I am used to from Born Pretty Stores Nail Art selection. Don't forget, I also have a 10% off code you can use too - AFL91

Until Next Time,

Aussie Nails Monday- Textured

Despite owning no 'actual' Textured polishes, I wanted to take part in ANM this week. I've discovered that any old full coverage glitter minus top coat is the same thing as a texture. The Milani One Coat Glitters are a great example.

For my 'textured' look, I used 2 coats each of Zoya Blu and China Glaze United. I top coat-ed Blu, but not United, and then stuck pastel blue and pink circle studs on the opposite nails. Super simple, and super cute!

What's your take on the texture trend?

Budget Fave: BYS Liquid Eyeliner

I'm a bargain hunter, always have been. Good quality, cheap make up can be hard to find, but when you find those products, it's awesome!

This is one of those products.

BYS Smudgeproof, Waterproof liquid eyeliner. Eyeliner is a staple for me, and as it warms up I find myself reaching for liquids over gels and pencils.

It has a long, tapered lid so you can hold and control the brush better. The 'brush' is the only thing about this I'm not a huge fan of. It's made out of very flexible, softish plastic. No bristles. It's a little bit sharp too, so you need a little patience. But as you can see above, it's pigmented, opaque and even with the brush, you can create some VERY thin lines easily. It dries quickly, and does wear well. I wouldn't call it Waterproof though, it does wash off with water and a little effort.

BYS have really upped their quality as of late, and I'm looking forward to seeing what else they can come out with!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec

Glitter Gal Holo Spam!

Glitter Gal are an Aussie brand, best known for some awesome holos, and I have 3 to show you today. But first, a confession... I bought these aboooooooout a year ago, and only JUST now tried them. As a holo lover, I am ashamed of myself. Especially now, after trying them...

Before I show pictures, I will say this now to avoid repeating myself. Formula wise, these are thin, and they are sheer. They dried quickly and applied very easily.

Now, onto the colours!

Green Holo. 4 coats. This was the sheerest of the 3, needing 4 coats for opacity. It's a VERY close shade to the silver, at one coat each you cannot tell which is which. It's a nice, cool green with linear holo.
Blue Holo. 3 coats. My favourite of the 3. Also the most opaque, and the most pigmented. Gorgeous sea blue with linear holo.
Silver Holo. 4 coats. Again, very sheer, but very holo, like the rest. Its a very light silver, the kind you see hanging around with fairys and all that lol.

They are really nice colours, and I would try more from Glitter Gal. I hear Lizard Belly is a nice one!

Until Next Time,

Emily DeMolly No Love Lost

When Hayley, the creator of the phenomenal brand Emily DeMolly announced that she was discontinuing No Love Lost, I decided that I should finally get around to buying it, after NEEDING it for a long time. Why did I need it? To match this, of course:

My first ever tattoo! Obviously, if there's a polish I can match to a tattoo, I'm gonna need it!

The polish itself is STUNNING. It has a vibrant, pink toned red jelly base, and it is packed with different sizes and shapes of pink and red glitters. It applied beautifully without needing fishing, and was perfect at two coats.

I don't know how many bottles of this are still available for sale, but if you like, go NOW and buy it if you can!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec

Aussie Nails Monday - Spring

It's getting warmer here in Australia, and I hate it. I hate it so much. But, it makes me want to crack out brights, neons and pastels for my polish choices. This weeks ANM theme is Spring, which is appropriate, given that Spring started yesterday. The mani I have today is actually the 'undies' for something I have to post later this week.

This is the first time I've tried the sideways gradient, and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner! To acheive this look, I used:
Index: 2 coats China Glaze Lemon Fizz, sponged with Color Club Twiggie
Middle: 2 coats Zoya Blue, sponged with Tiggie
Ring: 2 coats China Glaze Light As Air, sponged with Blue
Pinky: 2 coats China Glaze Something Sweet, Sponged with Light As Air.

I love how this turned out so much! It'd look adorable as a pedi!

Until Next Time,

Illamasqua Facade Intense Lipgloss

I love a good neutral lip, but most of them make me look a little odd. And that's where Illamasqua's Intense Lipgloss in Facade comes in.

Granted, it's not a colour for everyone. It is a little darker than it photographs, too. But I love it! It is pigmented, but not 100% opaque. The applicator nozzle is hard and I found it easier to apply with a lip brush. It wears well, and is lightly hydrating. It doesn't bleed and I don't need to wear a liner with it, which is a big plus! I love the packaging too, I love all of Illamasquas packaging though. It's "edgy chic" ahaha.

Do you like these kinds of shades?

Until Next Time,
