Aussie Nails Monday/NYE mani!

I'm a real party pooper this year- no drinks, no party, but I am sick and in intense pain! On the plus side, my nails look awesome! I'm keeping this post short and sweet, y'all  have partying to do!

This is 4 coats of China Glaze Techno, with no undies and 2 coats of SV. Smooth, shiny, and oh-so-blingy! I love this alone, I can't stop staring!

Have a safe and happy new years dear followers, I love you all!

Until Next Time,

W7 Lava Flow

A group of us Aussie Nails ladies did a W7 group buy recently, and I had to jump in on that for one polish in particular. Lava Flow is a white base packed with black and red glitter.

This is 2 coats, with no 'undies' and Seche Vite topcoat. It applied really well considering how much glitter it has, and I only needed one coat of topcoat to make it super smooth. It also removed quite easily, I'm yet to try the peel off base coat thing so I dread glitter removal. This was no trouble though, luckily!

I really love this, the sparkle of the red glitter and the softness of the white and the black, it just works. Kudos W7!

I am after more W7's now, there's a fair few I want now!

MORE Neon and glitter?!

You're damn right! I told you, I love the combo of the two right now! It's the summer weather getting to me I think ;)

I loved the mani I'm showing you today. Loved. It. But, my camera took one look at the base colour and I heard it say "f&*^ this, I quit!" and my photo is not colour accurate!

Both these photos are in the shade, the photos I took in the sun were too off-colour.

My base colour is three coats of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, which I am kicking myself for not getting earlier. I love it so much. It's been on my toes for a fortnight nearly! The formula sucks though. 3 coats and there was still a few patches/bald spots so I grabbed Ulta3 Over The Rainbow and sponged it on. Over The Rainbow is actually the first multi-colour glitter I've gotten, and I have another one that is very different now too.

This combo was so fun, and SO BRIGHT. Love it! My bf hated it though haha he's not big on neons.

Aussie Nails Secret Santa!

I took part in a Secret Santa gift swap in my beloved Aussie Nails group, and my gift arrived yesterday (mail on a Sunday- how weird!) and it was an amazing, generous gift!

Here is the gift in full! The polishes I recieved are: Sinful Colors Let's Talk, Sinful Colors Kissy, Essence Make It Golden, Mirenesse Silent Mauvey, OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest, China Glaze Glitter All The Way, and two incredibly special polishes, China Glaze 2NITE (!!!!), and the polish I'm showing you today, OPI Absolutely Alice.

If you don't know what AA is, you've probably been living under a rock. This baby is part of the elusive OPI Alice in Wonderland collection that came out a few years ago. This and it's sister Mad As A Hatter have become incredibly hard to find, and coveted by many. Imagine my surprise when I unwrapped it! I squealed quite loudly!

AA is a dense, fine blue and gold glitter mix in a clear base. It applies like butter, and is opaque in 3 coats. And it didn't eat topcoat either, ne coat of SV and it was smooth and perfect. And my favourite thing about this polish? It is ridiculously sparkly! Even in really dim lighting, it still sparkles. I love it!

Big, huge thanks again to the fabulous Joelene for the gift, it was amazingly thoughtful and perfect!

Until Next Time,

Neon + Glitter = LOVE!

I'm loving neons lately. So hard. And I got a mini haul of some random colours I've been lusting on Monday, and have been rocking neons all week! Today I'm showing you some semi-cheesy nails that I did on my day off when my beloved LA Lakers had a game.

This is 2 coats of the awesome China Glaze Sun-Kissed, with 2 accents of Lacquer Convention Snap, Crackle, Pop! I seriously love this glitter, I've had it for a week and have worn it three times already! It's so dense and pretty and all the different shapes and colours. Ugh it's the perfect purple glitter.

I really love the formula of the Summer Neons too, they're thick, but so easy to apply. I had very little clean up to do with this one!

What do you think? Neons and Glitter- yay or nay?

Until next Time,

<3 Bec

Oh PS... the Lakers won ;) it was cos of my mani I swear :p

Layering with OPI DS Extravagance!

Hi hi! A nice little layering combo today, I've seen so many people wearing OPI DS Extravagance lately, and it's made me feel like my bottle is being neglected. So I pulled it out and as I did so, I saw Max Factor Fantasy Fire as well, and a lightbulb went off in my head!

I think adding FF to DS Extravagance makes it so rich and gorgeous. And look at the colour shift in the last picture! *drool!* I used 2 coats of DS Extravagance and once coat of FF. Adding FF did hide the holo sparkle in DS Extravagance a tiny bit, but you can definitely still see it!

I loved this combo, what do you think?

Until Next Time,

Aussie Nails Monday- Sponging!

Welcome back to Aussie Nails Monday! Today's theme is 'Sponging,' and I had an awesome, difficult mani planned, but then I got lazy and had no motivation to do it, so instead I did a quick gradient with two of my newest polishes.

For the base I used 2 coats of China Glaze Adore, a GORGEOUS blue/green/teal metallic. From the Romantique collection, I had to buy this one after buying Poetic and loving it (swatches soon, promise!). This collection are all basically one coaters, but my bf decided to bump my hand so I needed a second coat. After it dried, I sponged on Lacquer Convention Snap, Crackle, Pop! and a coat of Seche Vite. I love Snap Crackle Pop! a ridiculous amount. It's purple and white, multi sized, multi shaped glitters in a clear base, and it's nice and dense.

I loved how these polishes looked together, not bad for a lazy effort! Now, go look at the other ANM girls manis!

China Glaze Get Carried Away!

Hi Hi! I have one the China Glaze's newest releases today, Get Carried Away from the Cirque De Solei Worlds Away Collection. This polish got some pretty bad reviews, but instead of giving you any complaints, I planned ahead, and read other people's reviews, and thinned the polish with some thinner before using it. And I had NO trouble with it.

Get Carried Away has a sheer black base, and is packed with black bar glitter, small black and silver glitter, and larger hex glitter in black, silver and a pinky-coppery colour. It's very complicated, but I love it! And I am not a fan of bar glitter!

I layered GCA over A England Perceval, the greatest red polish ever made. I only used one coat of each. The glitter isn't 'hungry' either, one coat of Seche Vite made it perfectly smooth. I think listening to other people's reviews has helped me with this polish, a lot of girls had trouble applying it, but adding thinner, it was just like applying any other polish. None of the glitter needed to be 'placed' on either.

I really love this combo, and hope that a few bad reviews don't turn people off this awesome polish!

Until Next Time,

Ultimate 80's nail art!

I did this mani a few weeks ago, loved it, but for some reason I'm only posting it now! It's very summer appropriate, and I got sooooo many compliments on them too!

i used a base of Ulta3 Lily White, then on a sponge I 'dabbed' Ulta3 Spring Break (purple), Fruit Tingle (pink), Citrus (yellow) and Jelly (green). Let that dry and then stamped over it with Australis Sin City and BM-305, and topped it off with Seche Vite.

I still haven't perfected stamping yet, but I'm trying! lol

Aussie Nails Monday - Delicate!

Hello and welcome to another installment of Aussie Nails Monday! Today's theme is 'Delicate', which can be pretty tough to come up with something other than lace. So I went with a delicate polish, instead of delicate nail art (kinda!)

I used 2 coats of Revlon Whimsical over 2 coats of Ulta3 Lily White. While the last layer of Whimsical was drying, I placed the glitter hearts onto the nail and sealed it with Seche Vite. The hearts have a hologram effect too, makes them very eye catching in person!
So, this is my take on delicate nails. No go look at everyone elses!

LacquerDreams Top 12 of 2012!

Hi! I've decided to do a 'Top 12' theme on the blog to celebrate the end of the year. I'm pretty glad it's ending, next year will be BIG! So, once every week this month, I will have a Top 12 of my favourite nail related things (including days about myself, because I can!). And I'm going to start with the most boring one. My Favourite Manicures of My Own!

Those are the 12 best manis/nail art I did this year! I feel like I've really gotten a lot better all round in the past few months, and there is one picture that I haven't actually posted yet! This week, I promise!   I'd love to know what you think!

Until Next Time,
