TIHC: Recreate someone's mani!

I can't believe it's Halloween already! And my sisters 17th birthday! Happy birthday Holly!

Today's challenge, the final one, is to re-create your favourite manicure that someone else did during the challenge. I had mine picked out very early! As soon as I saw this mani from Naomi I knew I had to do it myself!

Top is the matte version, bottom is glossy. I used 2 coats of Australis sin City, and sponged on Ulta3 Lily White and painted the bones on with a small nail art brush.

It's nowhere near as good as the original, but I loved this mani! I am so sad that the challenge is over though, it has been so much fun! A big Thanks to every one who participated and stuck through it!

Until Next Time

TIHC x2! Graveyards and Trick Or Treat!

Two manis today! Mainly because I missed yesterday :/ but I have tomorrows mani done already!

So today I have 2 of the final 3 This Is Halloween Challenge manis. First up is Graveyards. I thought a little out of the box with this one, and it relates back to one of the recent episodes of Doctor Who. Yes, I am one of those people! Haha!

Anyway, in the episode in question, my favourite Doctor Who 'bad guys' are the Weeping Angels. (For more basic info, click here) and these kind of angel statues are things you'd find you in a graveyard (and they were in the episode!) These guys never fail to creep me the hell out!

I used Essence The Dawn Is Broken, China Glaze Recycle and Ulta3 Black Satin. Finished off with Essie Matte About You. One of the better manis I've done this challenge!

The second one today is Trick-Or-Treat. Again, I went to one of my favourite things, the Nightmare Before Christmas!

The three naughty henchmen, Lock, Shock and Barrel! Not happy with how these turned out, but it'll do. It did give me a chance to finally use Cult Nails Iconic. What a stunner! I promise a full swatch soon ;)

I used Iconic, Ulta3 Kiwi Kaos, Borghese Red, and Ulta3 Lily White and Black Satin.

So, one more day left! So keen!

Until Next Time,

Pink Nails For October!

Hi guys! As we all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. A good reason to wear pink if you ask me! So I promised myself I would do a Pink mani before October ends, and I did! Eventually...

I used 3 coats of China Glaze Something Sweet for the base. Once dry, I used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in I Pink I Can and sponged on a reverse gradient. Added a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust and a black rhinestone in the center/bottom of each and finished it with a coat of Seche Vite.

Until Next Time!

TIHC: Witches!

You can't have Halloween without witches! And we're nearing the end of the challenge!

Todays mani is not one of my best, but oh well. On we push.

I used 3 coats of China Glaze flying Dragon (neon) as a base, and then added a layer of 365 Days of Color Old Time Movie onto my pointer and pinky fingers. I used a 2 way nail art pen for the flying witch, her hat, and the cats ears, and the broom is layers of Ulta3 Allure and Chocolate Cake. Topped all off with Essie's Matte About You.

Until Next Time!

TIHC: Gradients!

I had a few girls request that gradients made the list of challenge themes, and today's the day! I really wanted to do something a little different for this, and I think what I came up with was a bit different indeed!

Enlarge the photos to have a closer  look! My inspiration was burnt pages with DIE written all over them, and the red is blood, obviously ;p

I used 1 coat of BYS Black Satin, then sponged on 2 layers of Ulta3 Allure. Added a bit more black over the edges and tips, and wrote the word(s) on with a nail art pen. Topped it off with NYC Matte Me Crazy and then sponged the red on (Borghese Red) and left it without topcoat.

This is one of my favourite manis I've done so far in the challenge! I'm loving how creative everyone is!

Until Next Time,

China Glaze DV8

Hey hey! 4 days in a row now, I'm proud of myself haha!

Todays gem is one I got from a blog sale from my lovely Aussie polish friend Jacqui! And I have a second awesome parcel on my way from here with another one from the OMG Collection!

DV8 is one of my favourites from the OMG Collection, and my fourth from it. It's a bright teal with an amazing linear holo.

Sadly, my pictures do not do this one justice. It is about 4 MILLION times more holo in person than my photos show. This is 2 effortless coats, with no top coat because it kills the holo. And sadly, because of that, it did chip quickly. But I can't stay mad at it, because its so pretty.

I have a mad love for teals, and I have another teal holo from the China Glaze Tronica collection that needs me to wear it again! It's Spring here in Oz, and that means perfect holo weather!

Until Next Time!

Cult Nails Deal With It

Happy Saturday! I am kicking myself for not posting this jar of awesomeness earlier, but it's time to!

Cult Nails Deal With It is part of Coco's Untamed Collection, and it is simply amazing!

Bright green packed with green and gold shimmers! If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know that I fell in love with this one immediately! It just GLOWS in the sunlight, look at it! I urge you to click on the pics and enlarge them, this is one of the best greens I have ever seen!

Application was perfection, I have 2 coats on here. Dried quickly and I had no issues with the formula. There's really not much more to say, except, BUY THIS ONE!

Until Next Time,

My First REAL Stamping Success!

I am so excited to post this that it's 2:35 am and I don't even care! I've bought some cheap stamping plates before, and every time I tried them, I have gotten terrible results. But when I saw some Bundle Monster plates on a blog sale, I snatched up the ones I wanted immediately! I got bm315, 301, 305 and 31, all ones I had wanted badly!

So I sat down tonight and had a play, and I am STOKED with the result!

(again, still trying to work out the best lighting position for my lightbox :/)

I used 2 coats of Revlon Royal, my first time using it and I am in love! Everyone needs this one! And then I stamped on the lightning bolts on my ring finger with BM 305 and Orly Dazzle. I was so nervous that I actually squealed a little when it worked! And for the rest of the mani, I used a sponge and sponged on Dazzle to the tips. Topped it all off with Seche Vite and voila! My first success!

Now, I need to work on my lighting! Any suggestions?

Until Next Time!

TIHC: Bats!

It's no secret that I love bats. I have clothing, jewellery, and even a bat implanted in my chest. Yes seriously ;p. It's a bit of hand-carved silicon that I had inserted into my chest.

I'm Batman! ;)

Any way! My mani! I was super keen for this one and had my inspiration and idea very early on! I took inspiration for this t-shirt from Sourpuss that I have (photo is not mine!)

Little bats! I used 3 coats of China Glaze Recycle as a base and then painted the bats on with a tiny brush and Ulta3 Black Satin.

I just got my lightbox, so I apologize for my crappy looking picture! I'm trying to work out the lighting still!

Until Next Time!

TIHC: Zombiiiiiies!

Hello hello! Another This Is Halloween Challenge day today, and this one, I was looking forward too!

Last weekend, my state's capital city had its annual Zombie Walk, were thousands of people zombie-fy themselves and walk through the city. I went with a couple of friends and had a blast, but unfortunately, I'm yet to find any pictures of myself even though there were photographers everywhere! But I know my nails had to look awesome, so I came up with this...

I LOVED it! I started with a base of Ulta3 Allure, then sponged on OPI William Tell Me About OPI, and a bit of Ulta3 Black Satin and topped it off with NYC Matte Me Crazy. I was originally going to clean up my fingers, but a few people told me to leave it, so I sponged on a bit more of the OPI on my fingers!

What do you think? Awesome or gross? haha!

Until Next time,

<3 Bec

TIHC: Jack O Lanterns

I'm 2 days late with this one, my bad! I had a vision of how I wanted my mani to turn out, but no matter what, it looked like crap. So I rage quit, and ended up with this guy!

I used 2 coats of Ulta3 Frog Prince for the base, and then used the saran wrap technique and OPI Green-Wich Village. The vine is OPI Gargantuan Green Grape Matte, and the happy little pumpkin is OPI In My Back Pocket (apparently, I had to use OPI's with long names!). The black is my trusty 2 way nail art pen, and I topped it all off with Seche Vite.

So, it's not what I wanted, but hey. It's cute, and fun!

I am SOOOO excited to show my Zombie nails tomorrow, I did them last weekend for an event and loved them!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec

TIHC: Ghosts!

I'm a day late in posting this, and I hate it, but I had very little time and had to do a mani! The theme for this installment of the This Is Halloween Challenge is Ghosts. I chose to do a mani that matched the name of the Challenge itself, a Nightmare Before Christmas one!

It's Zero! Jack Skellingtons little ghost dog! I used 2 coats of Gloss n Sparkle Purpetual Darkness as a base- let me tell you, that is one STUNNING polish! I will have a proper review up tomorrow! I used a 2-Way Nail Art Pen to do all the white detailing.

I wasn't happy with this mani at all, but it'll pass. I think what I hated the most is that I now, do indeed, have nubbins. :( 5 breaks in 3 days, I had to cut the rest down in fear of more breakage!

Until Next Time!

Bleh...

So, I haven't posted my water marble today, and I won't be. It's been a rough week. I have a respiratory tract infection, my asthma's not agreeing with that, I'm losing sleep because of it, and worst of all, I have broken five nails this week. FIVE. I had to seriously nubbify all my nails to avoid any more breaks. And what's preventing me from water marbling is that my left pinkie, when it broke, it broke badly and my fingers is red, and swollen.

I will catch up and post it on monday with my next challenge. I will have a new InLinkz code to email out over the weekend, so if you want the codes, PLEASE EMAIL ME. My email is becdawber@hotmail.com. There is one code per week, and I will send them to those who email/ed me.

So, that's my little ramble!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec

TIHC: Day 1: Horror Movies!

Hey there! Remember that Halloween challenge I made last week?

Well, it starts today!  I am VERY excited for todays mani, I LOVE horror movies and I struggled to narrow it down to just one. So, I picked my 4 favourite horror icons and painted one of each!

From index to pinky, Freddy Kruger (Nightmare on Elm St), Michale Myers (Halloween), Pinhead (Hellraiser) and Jason (Friday the 13th).

I'm not going to list what polished I used, because I used 16 of them! These four nails alone took me almost 3 hours to do, and I am VERY happy with the results!

If you want to join in, feel free too!

Until Next Time!
