Nfu-OH MY GOD!

I mentioned a few days ago that I finally got around to getting my first Nfu-Oh's, and I'll be showing you two of them today (I got 3, the other is #40, blue/green flakies)!

Today is a totally appropriate day to post them too, yesterday was crazy sunny, perfect for swatching, and today, rainy and grey.

First up, #61:

Strong, linear silver holo. How amazing is that?! I want to compare it to GOSH holo, because they are both strongly holo and pure awesome. Two coats, no top coat.

And #66 (such creative names, right?)

Light green linear holo. Doesn't look like much in the bottle, but when you put it on, WOW! It's no secret  that I love green holos, so this is an instant winner in my books. The holo effect doesn't look too strong in the pictures, but in person it is much stronger. This is 3 coats, no top coat.

I love both of these. I have heard that they are hard to apply, you need an Aqua Base etc, but I used my trusty OPI Ridge Filler Base Coat with both and had no application problems. They are both slightly thick, and took a little longer than usual to dry for a holo, but the payoff is worth it. And, I can tell you that top coat does indeed dull these babies, so if you want it to last a little longer, go for a sandwich- one coat of holo, one coat of top coat, then another coat of holo.

My favourite thing about them though, is that they are 17ml bottles! Yay, 2 extra ml!

Now, I'm convinced I need the rest of them, which do you think are best? Love to hear your thoughts!

Until Next Time,

BFF Challenge - Striping Tape

Hello and welcome to week 2 of the BFF Challenge! This weeks themes were chosen by Pram from My Nail Polish Addiction, and they are challenging for sure!

The first of Pram's two choices is a striping tape mani. And I do NOT like my results lol!

So, it's not THAT bad, I'm just not keen on it. I used Color Club Revvvolution, so it IS holo, but of course I had no sunlight today! And the pink is OPI La-Pazatively Hot Matte. And there is the problem lol Matte + striping tape = BAD. It wasn't bad at all when I had Revvvolution on top, but the fingers with LPHM on top were a bad idea. It needed two coats, and that caused drying time problems.

I do like the way the colours pop against each other though, but just for future reference, no matte on top of striping tape!

Check out my other challengers!

Until Next Time!

Ozotic 518

Hello Hello! I am excited about tonights post, I have been searching for the perfect TRUE red holo, and I think I've found it!

Australian brand Ozotic recently discontinued the 500 series, so I knew that I HAD to get some before they were gone for good (there is still some colours with some stock left!). So I picked up 509 and the polish I'm showing you tonight, 518.

This is a truly breathtaking polish. Its bright, vibrant, and PACKED with rainbows! The finish on this one is interesting, it looks almost metallic in indoor light! Gorgeous!

I used 3 coats here, 2 was enough, but I wanted to make it pop, and it dried super quick. It was incredibly smooth too, omg I actually sat there stroking my nails!

So, did you get any of the 500 series before they're gone for good?

Until Next Time,

3D Fantasy

Hello Hello!  I've kept this daily blogging thing going strong, slightly proud of myself! Today I have another one of the China Glaze Tronica collection, and it's a slightly old (2ish months) swatch. I looked at it and thought 'look how short my nails were!', but they weren't, they're just much longer now!

3D Fantasy was a real surprise for me. I mostly bought it due to the name, I think it's pretty funky. Little did I know that it was AWESOME!

Reddish-pinkish-coraly scattered holo. I have nothing like this, holo or not, in my stash. It's so unique and pretty!

It is one of the 'weaker' holos in the Tronica collection, but I really don't care, because it's that cool.

It's super pigmented too, this is ONE coat! No topcoat, because I did about 20 swatches that day and couldn't be stuffed with it. But the one coat element really surprised me, I was expecting to have to do a few, not one!

I have one more Tronica to swatch, but everytime I try, I can never get good enough photos, purples like to make my hands look bad!

Until Next Time,

Rainbow Favourites- PURPLE!

Hey hey! I'm excited about today, I loooove purple, I think I have more purple and green than anything else in my stash!

Now, I was torn between 2 polishes today, and I was going to turn them into a gradient, but alas, it rained all day and there was no sunlight :/ so instead, I'll just post my older swatches of them!

First up, OPI DS Original;

And China Glaze LOL

Need I say more?!

One more day left of the challenge! And my pink is a doozy!

Until next time,

A England Bridal Veil

Hello again! The last of my A England collection today! I bet you're sick of hearing about how amazing they are, but I simply cannot help it!

Bridal Veil. Super pigmented, rich, deep black with subtle holo. Not as holo as others, like Dragon or Ascalon, but still holo nontheless!

One coat again, dried fast, smooth application. The usual A England formula, and I have no complaints whatsoever!

I knew I had to have this one as soon as it was released. I love black polish, 99% of my wardrobe is black, and we all know b now that I'm a sucker for holos!

Until Next Time,

A England Dragon

Hello Again! Another A England today, this time, the magical Dragon.

ooooooo! Dragon is a nice, dark, green with gold duochrome effect. Another holo/duochrome?! Be still my beating heart!

Best thing about this one? ONE COAT. So pigmented. Smooth, perfect application, quick drying time, all the elements to make a perfect polish. And it is.

I have a lot of green holos, and this is right up there in the top 3! Another amazing polish! Have you tried any A Englands yet? Which one?

A England Ascalon

Dear Adina and A England in general.
Stop with the amazingness.
Love, Bec's Wallet

Seriously though, I have 4 A England polishes to show you, and I may re-swatch Tristam (because it's amazing), and every. single. one. is PERFECTION. Ugh. A England are still an indie brand in my eyes, and out of all of them (and there are HEAPS now), they are my favourite. I love the colours, I love the medieval themes, I love that there are holos, and the formula is amazing.

Today I'm showing you Ascalon. And there's a few pics. I couldn't help myself.

Ascalon is a mousy grey holo with a purple duochrome. Duochrome and holo?! *fans self* I had some difficulty capturing the duochrome shift, because it was very temperamental weather that day, cloudy, then a few minutes of sun, then more cloud...

This is one gorgeous polish. Application was flawless, 2 easy coats here. A England polishes are just SO pigmented, so intense and always stunning.

You can see some of the purple in this pic, but trust me, it's much stronger in person! These polishes are nice and glossy too, unlike a lot of holos.

There really isn't much more to be said about Ascalon. If you've been eyeing it off, GET IT. A England have free worldwide shipping from their website, and shipping is pretty fast! I'll leave you with a couple more photos ;D

What do you think, gorgeous? No? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec

OPI DS Sapphire

Hello again! Another one from my epic swatchathon the other day!  I bought this from April, and it's taken me months to use it! Mainly due to the lid being unopenable, but I popped it in some hot water and got it open finally!

OPI DS Sapphire

Pretty, light blue linear holo. DS010, and discontinued, like most of the DS's. This is one cool holo! Let me explain why;

First, it's an awesome colour, similar to one of the Milani holos (I have a post coming up about this!). Light, sky blue..with a slight purple duochrome. It's not always there, but you can definitely see it. The holo effect is strong and linear, and it looks very cool with the shade of blue.

It dried quickly, like most holos. It is a bit sheer though, I'm wearing three coats and there's still visible nail line. Next time, I plan to layer it over something.

It is a really gorgeous shade though, OPI need to start making them like this again...

Until Next Time!

MIlani Hi Tech vs China Glaze Laser Lime Comparison

Hello hello! Shortish post for today, I mentioned I would compare Milani Hi Tech and CG Laser Lime, so I did!

Milani on ring and index, CG on middle and pinky. VERY close, but I wouldn't call them dupes. The Milani is a bit more of a bright green and glossier.

The biggest difference though is the holo particles. The CG holos are like most other holos, very fine holo particles. Milani however, have bigger, more noticeable particles, which make them look pretty darn holo! I also love the way the particles look, it gives it a really cool effect!

So essentially, close, but no dupes. Both are on the sheer side too, I used 3 coats of each. But I can justify having both because they are different. And green. And holo.

Until Next Time,

China Glaze Laser Lime

Hello again! 2 posts in 2 days, feels good! I have been neglecting you blog, but know that I love you and am trying <3.

Today, we had a brief bit of sunlight, before it started getting dark around 5pm! Winter in Australia is amazing, and I know that a lot of overseas people don't think Oz gets very cold, but trust me, it does!

I took advantage of the sunlight to test out another of my untrieds, China Glazes Laser Lime, from the Tronica collection.

Now, I ordered this, and then read up on a few blogs about it, and didn't find much positivity. So it  has been sitting in my untried drawer collecting dust until I decided to break it out today. And can I just say, OMFG. WHY were people not liking this?!

But, I took it out in the shade first...

And then, when I hit the sunlight,

This actually has a pretty strong holo effect! I've quickly painted the other 3 Tronicas I have and I actually think this may be one of the more holo ones. LOVE.

Laser Lime is on the sheer side, I'm using 3 coats in the pictures, with no top coat. It's a bit glossier than some holos too. And, I really love it on my skin tone, the yellow tint in the green glows against my pale skin.

One thing I did notice was that it was similar to Milani Hi Tech, which I swatched a while ago. But, tomorrow, I will make a quick comparison to show you!

I'm a firm believer in holo greens, so if you're like me, you NEED this one!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec

LOL!

No, I'm not laughing at anything! I promised that if there was some sunlight today that I'd have an awesome polish to show you, and I do! Luckily, we had an hour or two of sunlight, so I took full advantage of it!
China Glaze LOL from the OMG Collection. I was lucky enough to find someone with access to most of the collection, and I could not say no!
LOL is a purple linear holo. I painted my first coat and thought "this is the perfect grape-y purple!" And it is. Very grape-y. And beautiful.
I used 2 coats here, and it was perfect! Smooth, glossy without top coat, and dried fast. It's a little on the thin side, and that really makes any imperfections on you nail bed visible. I can see all my ridges and dents quite well...
I have been saying for months now that China Glaze make the best purples. And they do, they really do. Given the chance, I would take a CG purple over any other brand. And the fact that this one is crazy gorgeous, and holo, it bumps its way up to the top of my favourites list!

Now I'm back to hoping that I get some more sun tomorrow, because I still have LOTS to show you!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec
